What The Friday! Let’s Celebrate Love!

Today is a day to celebrate love!

Love for your family, love for your friends, and if you’re lucky enough to have found someone, love for your relationship.

I don’t believe you need to buy flowers, or diamonds, or dinner to prove to someone that you love them. Today isn’t about things, it’s about sentiments.

I am a hopeless romantic, and I very much, proudly,  wear my heart on my sleeve.

When I was in high school I used to have Valentine’s Day parties for my friends. We would light candles, watch love movies, and give each other Valentine’s day cards. It was a great time for us to feel special and loved together.

I usually try to do something small and goofy for my husband for Valentine’s day. Last week I bought him a cute card that says, Valentine, you take my breath away. Good thing you’re always there for a little mouth-to-mouth. (Underneath it I wrote P in my V, HA!)

It took EVERYTHING I had in me not to give it to him right away.

Last night I wrote a little love missive for him in the card, and taped it to the screen of his work computer. When he opened his computer for work this morning, he told me that it melted his heart.

I collected some pretty goofy ecards and sent them to my friends to let them know how much I love them.

Whether you’re single, or with the love of your life, take the time to enjoy the people you have in your life. Reach out and let them all know how much they mean to you.

It’s the thought that counts, and even something as silly as a geeky ecard can really turn someone’s day around.

What are you doing to celebrate LOVE today?

I love language in all its forms and I think punny and funny are to be celebrated for sure! And Valentine’s is indeed a good time to express love with a light touch – it takes some of the commercialization out of the day and puts the joy back in.

Nath – great entry! I think it’s important to celebrate love in all forms. ALL love is important. That’s why I tell you I love you approx. 15 million times a day! (Oh no, heart on my sleeve, I am too intense!)

I’m glad your husband liked his card. What a lovely, thoughtful gesture!

    I love you!!!
